It seems lately whenever I want to upload an image into the photo or drawing slots on my house, I will browse for my file and click "upload image," and it will take a considerable time to think, and then ask me if I wish do download/save a file called "upload_image.
2005-07-02 [Nita]: What kind of image is it? You can try downloading that file and opening it in Notepad, to see if it says what's wrong... Or you can try to figure out what's the difference between the image you're trying to upload and the ones you've uploaded before.

2005-12-05 [Stray Kitty]: I have the privedge that allows you to upload images to a wiki, but I can't get it to work. I talked to the gaurd who gave me the privedge and it didn't work. I've tried with images that weren't on Elftown and some that I had had once in my picture box. I can't figure out why it won't work.

2005-12-05 [Paz]: Take the picture you're wanting to upload, as [iippo] said, save it to your hard drive. Then upload it using the form at the bottom of the wiki. It's just like uploading an image to your house** (ack, wrong use of words)
2005-12-05 [iippo]: But if you have uploaded the image to your house, there really is no need to upload it again to /stuff - it already has a URL that you can use to show the image. If on the other hand you have a larger version of it that you'd prefer to show to people, then upload that bigger image from your hard disk. Don't forget to add .jpg or .gif to your image-name.

2005-12-07 [Paz]: You use ET friendly HTML, not normal HTML, you seem to be trying to change your stylesheet or background. If you want to change your background see Elftownstylesheets and to see what HTML is usable on Elftown see: Guide to the Pseudo HTML on Elftown. Which makes things a whole lot easier actually because you don't have to worry about the 'a href' and colour codes. (Note: the style sheet is the whole background for every page on ET)
2005-12-07 [Nita]: Elftown pseudo HTML doesn't support JavaScript for security reasons, so your code won't work on a normal wiki page. It will work on an exported raw HTML wiki page, though.

2007-06-05 [Ocean Soul]: You can pick the password you want, only it has to be unique at ET. Which means, not everyone should have the same password. We try to make it hard for hackers to steal your account and you complain about it? Just write the password down somewhere, it won't hurt. And I have to remember a lot of passwords myself, some of them being really long and random, but do you see me complain? I don't think so.

In any case, as [Ocean Soul] explained this system has been implemented for your own protection. A common password is easier to hack into, because they tend to know which passwords are often used.. . So yes it is annoying, but necessary :)
